Who actually buys screws on purpose

Honestly, most people only think about screws when they've run out mid-job, kneeling on the floor with a half-assembled flat-pack and a face like thunder. That's the only reason I ever noticed TIMCO's Solo range in the first place. A mate pulled a box out of his van like it was nothing, and the screws just worked. No cam-out, no snapping, no drama.

The 3.5 x 12mm size is a proper workhorse length. Good for fixing thin chipboard, attaching cabinet backs, any light joinery where you don't want a screw poking through the other side. The gold coating gives them a bit of corrosion resistance, though I wouldn't push that too far outdoors.

The honest bit

For around a quid, you're getting 200 screws. That's less than half a penny each. The quality isn't premium-trade-grade, but it's not pound-shop either. TIMCO is a legit brand used by actual joiners, so there's some reassurance there.

Reservation worth stating: 3.5 x 12 is quite short and quite specific. If you need something longer or wider, this box is no use to you at all. And they're not the screws you'd reach for hardwood or structural work.

But for chipboard kitchens, flat-pack assembly, or just filling up the odds-and-ends tray in your toolbox? Spot on. Stock a box, forget about it, be quietly smug the next time you need a fixing and already have one.
