The bit that actually matters: individual switches
Most cheap extension leads give you one master switch, or no switches at all. Masterplug puts an individual rocker switch on each socket. Sounds minor. It isn't. If you've ever crawled behind a desk to yank out a phone charger that's been silently sipping power for three days, you'll get it immediately. Just flick the switch. Job done.
I've got one of these under my desk at home. The 2m cable is long enough for most setups without becoming a trip hazard, and the build feels solid without being heavy or bulky. Nothing fancy, but nothing flimsy either.
Who this is actually for
This two-pack makes sense if you're kitting out a home office and a garage, or a workshop and a shed. Two leads, one order, sorted. It's the kind of thing you'd stick in a trolley at B&Q without thinking twice, except here you're getting two for a price that works out notably cheaper per unit.
Not for you if you need surge protection. There's no mention of surge suppression here, so if you're plugging in expensive kit like a decent monitor or a PC, you'd want something rated for that specifically.
Honest reservation
The community heat on HotUKDeals is real, 848 degrees is not nothing. But stock through Amazon Haul can be patchy. If you need these in a hurry, check delivery times before you get your hopes up. Other than that, honestly, it's a proper sensible buy for a very boring but very necessary household staple.
