Two baskets, and that actually matters
Most air fryers give you one drawer and you just... deal with it. Cook the veg, keep it warm, cook the protein, hope for the best. The Ninja Foodi MAX does something different: two independent 4.75L zones, each with its own temperature and timer. The party trick is Sync mode, which staggers the cooking so both finish at exactly the same moment. First time I used it, I did crispy thighs and roasted broccoli simultaneously, both properly done, no juggling. Honestly felt a bit smug about it.
Who this is actually for
If you're cooking for one or two, this thing is probably too much. It's a big unit, takes up real counter space, and the value only really clicks when you're feeding four or more people regularly. Families, meal preppers, people who batch cook on a Sunday: this is spot on for you. The 9.5L capacity means you can do eight portions at a go, which is legitimately useful.
The like-new condition via Amazon Resale is worth a mention. These units tend to come back because people impulse-buy and then find it too large for their kitchen. Their loss, potentially your gain, but measure your worktop first.
One honest reservation
The controls are mostly fine, but the interface takes a bit of getting used to. Not complicated, just slightly fiddly the first few times. Nothing that should put you off, but don't expect to be flying solo on night one without a quick read of the manual. Small gripe for something that otherwise does what it says.
