The thing about Heinz tomato soup

There's no mystery here, mate. It's that specific shade of orange, that particular sweet-but-savoury smell when it hits the pan, the way it coats the back of a spoon just right. Every British household has a memory attached to it. Mine is after football training, absolutely soaked through, a bowl of this and a doorstep of white bread. No notes.

So the question isn't really "is it good" - you know it is. The question is whether this deal is actually worth setting up a subscription for.

The maths on 24 cans

At the Subscribe & Save price, you're looking at well under 50p a can. That's supermarket own-brand territory for something that is, let's be honest, several notches above supermarket own-brand. A single 400g can on the shelf at most places will set you back 80p to a pound, so the saving is real and not just marketing noise.

The only honest reservation: Subscribe & Save means you're committing to regular deliveries. If you forget to skip a month, you'll end up with a very orange cupboard. Worth setting a calendar reminder.

Who this actually makes sense for

Large households, students bulk-buying for the year, anyone who meal-preps lunches regularly. Also anyone who heats up soup for elderly relatives who won't eat anything else. If you go through even two or three cans a week, the maths lands solidly in your favour.

Not for you if you're a one-person household who occasionally fancies soup. The commitment isn't worth it at that volume.
